Augmentations in Starfield are components that provide various bonuses to Weapons and Armor, this will allow the players to have an edge in battle and change the basic functionality of their Equipment of choice. Augmentations may be presented as an item available to be purchased from a Merchant, a reward from completing a Mission, a dropped item from Enemies, and as a Blueprint that can be used by Crafting.
Currently, it hasn't been confirmed if Augmentations will be a feature in the game, but we could always assume that it could make its way and play a big part when it comes to customization. The list of Augmentations in Starfield will be updated once Starfield is officially launched and once official information has been released.
