Romance in Starfield is a game feature that allows players to have special interactions with certain Companions. Similar to the Mass Effect series, not all characters are romanceable but the developers have provided us with a simple option on whom we choose to have a relationship with and even marry. Romance will also allow the players to get to know the characters more and possibly unlock more chapters of the story, as well as special missions and objectives. Starfield Tips on Romance
You can start a Starfield relationship by increasing your selected companion's affinity toward you, conversing with them, going on missions, and taking activities that win their approval. Increasing a companion's affinity allows them to talk to you, hear about their background, and ask questions. The 'flirt' conversation option will shortly appear; select it to keep their affinity level raised. They'll eventually assign you a mission; after you finish it, they'll become followers.
Will there be Sex Scenes or Nudity in Starfield?
Sexual scenes in Starfield are not present in the game. However, there will be moments when your character and a specific romanceable companion are having sex off-screen. Nudity, on the other hand, is also not available. If you decide to remove all of your character's gear in the game, your character will simply appear wearing undergarments. This means the game doesn't show that private moment, and it skips to what happens afterward instead. It's a way the game keeps certain things private and focuses more on the emotions and connections between characters rather than showing explicit scenes
Can you Romance Non-Companions in Starfield?
As of the moment, non-Companions in Starfield are not romanceable. Your only options for romance are one of your four companions: Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, Barrett, and Andreja. You'll be able to progress your relationship with them by venturing out on numerous missions and taking them along as companions.
The available romanceable characters are not locked to a preferred gender that they want to date based on their pronouns. No matter what the gender is for the player's avatar, they are free to choose who they want to have a relationship with and eventually, marry.
Can I Marry Companions in Starfield?
Yes. Marrying companions in Starfield is indeed a feature in the game. Marriage is considered the final stage of romancing a specific character in Starfield. You'll get a prompt in the dialogue section when available with the companion you have chosen to marry.

How to unlock romance in Starfield?
The path to romancing a character starts after you unlock a companion. Once you invite them to join you in your explorations or missions, they will help you in terms of fighting with enemies. Do take note that you can only bring one Companion at a time. While on explorations, they will eventually ask to speak with you. These will appear as activities and will appear on your missions list. Always select the flirt options whenever you have a personal conversation with one of them. Once you progress, you'll eventually need to commit to one of them and Marry them.
Can you end a marriage in Starfield?
Yes! In Starfield, you're free to end your marriage with whoever companion you're currently together with. To do this, just simply talk to the specific companion and choose the dialogue where you want to end your commitment. Afterward, you can start pursuing other companions.

You will come across Constellation member Andreja during the Main Missions in Starfield. She is one of the few romanceable characters in the game and a mystery figure with a solid moral compass and personality. Andreja is the ideal partner for people who prefer to avoid danger by sneaking up on it rather than charging headlong into it.
Always Travel and Speak to Andreja
- To romance Andreja, you always have to travel with her when you can. Before trying to speak with her, always do a quicksave. It is crucial to quickly load up that save whenever you select a dialogue she dislikes. Always choose the Sassy/Feisty options when talking with her; this is usually the second or third dialogue option. Andreja is kind, so remember not to attack civilians or friendly characters in the game. Lastly, always remember to pick the [FLIRT] / [ROMANCE] / [COMMITMENT] options when they pop up.
Always do the Missions related to Andreja:
- Once you progress talking with Andreja, she will eventually give you the Miscellaneous mission "Divided Loyalties." Once you accept this, this will change your status with Andreja to "Andreja Considers you a friend." It will take some time before you can progress even further, but once you reach a certain point, you will complete her mission "Divided Loyalties," at the end of that mission, you will get to choose two dialogue options. Select the "[ROMANCE] I'll always be here for you. I Love you." option, making you two in a relationship.

- After some playtime and traveling with Andreja, she will eventually ask to talk to you. It will prompt the [COMMITMENT] dialogue option. It will indicate that you have proposed to Andreja, and she will automatically accept your proposal. You can't get married right away, so take some time to travel together.
How to Marry Andreja in Starfield?
- After some playtime and traveling with Andreja, she will eventually ask to talk to you again. It will prompt the "Commitment: Andreja" mission. This mission involves you going to Planet Shoza II and Andreja giving you a Marriage gift. There is no official wedding ceremony. And there you have it. You are married to Andreja.

Barrett is a companion and a very good asset to your team. He's a skillful companion who can do a lot of things, like producing good food recipes, assisting you in doing more damage to machines, and even making your ship weaponry better in all aspects. He loves adventure, science, and venturing out to do new things. He's been a part of Constellation since the year 2305, showing that he's been exploring space and discovering new things for a long time. With his skills and experience, Barrett becomes a valuable companion of your team, making exploration in the game even more exciting and successful.

He used to be a Freestar Ranger before joining Constellation with his daughter Cora Coe in the year 2327. In the world of Starfield, Sam Coe is often referred to as the "former space cowboy," which gives you a good idea of what kind of person he is. He used to be part of the Freestar Rangers, a special group that focused on keeping the peace in the Freestar Collective.
