Melee Weapons in Starfield are the shortest in terms of range, but still damage inflicting. Melee Weapons don't use any kind of Ammo, meaning that usage of these type of weapons have no limits. The big disadvantage of these weapons is the bad positioning it requires to be able to inflict damage to enemies, unless the player is using a high rarity melee weapon that has some passive effect that would help overcome tough situations.

LMAO, when you have a futuristic game, but not the mindset to produce futuristic melee weapons concepts.

I don't think we should be surprised that melee is ineffective outside of stealth in a game that has guns, lasers, and grenades. Would have made more sense to just omit it entirely.

cant be mad only on melee weapons because except of balistic weapons everything seems undevelopment. very few weapons choices outside of balistics. unarmed also was ignored. they just put it there showed video on presentation with dificulty very easy and thought it is ok.

Wakizashi and Tanto, but no Katana, No-Dachi or Yari?
Missed opportunity.
Simple Bethetic.
Anyone knows if the gun melee scales with any of the fist/melee skills ?

The Var'Ruun Painblade and Osmium Dagger are missing. Unfortunately, they are both still just knives.

No two-handed weapons....another step back for bethesda "sight"

Not a single blunt weapon.
No crazy Science hammer like a Gravity Hammer or Super Sledge.
Not even a Stun Baton.
Truly pathetic!
Also besides that one rescue axe, they are all just knifes.
Unarmed get Boxing, Martial arts and Neurostrike
You get tons of stun/knock down opportunities , your fist do EM damage, you also some AOE knock down effect.
Melee get Dueling, Martial arts and Concealement
You get additional damage reduction, 10s speed buff on kill, and stealth damage modifier.
You can really see the branch they're doing with the close combat.
Thou i gotta say some level up effect for Dueling and Boxing would make more sense when swapped.
I mean, additional damage resistance with a melee weapon ? why ? You're mostly gonna use it for stealth assassination for the modifier.
Running consumes less O2 when unarmed ? I mean it makes sense but with Melee getting speed boost on kill, feels like it would fit the whole fast assassin dagger better
Dunno why they even put a axe in there when they clearly want to make melee a assassin's weapon...

Please tell me there's much more than just those cheap one handed toys. We need two handed weapons, like laser greatswords, energy battleaxes or gravity hammers. And futuristic fists weapons too.
Inside of a ship or a small/medium size room you are pure death with a wakizashi. On planet, i would recommend a gun.
