Starfield Weapons and Armor Prefixes are intricately tied to the game's loot and rarity system, Weapons and Armor when looted can come with different prefixes indicative of their quality and rarity. According to our testing, depending on your character's level, the droprate for better quality items increases. This makes it so that at all levels you may find interesting Equipment with several Perks and rarity while scaling with the game's Enemies. Mods add different prefixes according to their effects too.

Starfield Perk Prefixes

Prefixes related to Perks will come first in an Item's name, but they will only reflect the last perk in the list. Following that template if you find a legendary Weapon it will spawn with three different perks and if the last one is “ Furious” its name will start with that perk. There are three different rarities in Starfield, and each is inherently related to the amount of Perks the weapon possesses.
  • Common - Drops with no Perk
  • Rare - Drops with one Perk
  • Epic - Drops with two Perks
  • Legendary - Drops with Three Perks

Quality Prefixes Starfield

Quality prefixes are the main scaling method in the game, providing damage and stat increases across each increment. This mechanic allows for the player to find new and more powerful versions of the same item at different stages in the game. There are 4 qualities present in the game:

  • Common/ No Prefix
  • Calibrated
  • Refined
  • Advanced
