Starting Skills |
Homesteader is a Background (Class) in Starfield. Homesteaders start with basic survival skills and improved carry weight. Backgrounds can be considered as starting Classes for Starfield, determining the player's initial capabilities both in and out of combat. Each Background comes with three starting Skills, but does not limit which Skills can be learned and upgraded later on.
The discovery of the Settled Systems' many oxygen-rich planets and means humans could live just about anywhere... if they had the know how. You did, and utilized it to great effect.
Starfield Homesteader Starting Skills
Players that choose Homesteader as a Background will start with the following Skills:
Geology
Newly discovered minerals mined from alien planets and moons have directly led to some incredible technological advancements.
Surveying
Humanity now has access to untold alien worlds, and the ability to decipher all that data while on the ground has become an essential skillset.
Weight Lifting
Weight training can significantly increase one's ability to carry weapons and equipment, both in space and on the ground.
How to obtain Homesteader in Starfield
Players can obtain Homesteader when choosing their Background during Character Creation. Doing so may affect certain dialogues and relationships with the different Factions present in the game. Only one Background can be chosen, after which it cannot be changed.
