Mechanized is an Armor Perk in Starfield. Mechanized increases carry capacity by +40. Armor Perks are special abilities that certain armor pieces inherently possess. The amount of Armor Perks determines the rarity of said armor piece. Rare Armor Pieces have 1 Perk, Epic Armor Pieces have 2 Perks and, finally, Legendary Armor Pieces have 3 Perks.

Mechanized is a slot 3 trait. It only appears on Legendary armor, in that 3rd slot. Rare and Epic don't have a slot 3, so never get mechanized. Holstered is a slot 2 trait, you can get that on Legendary or Epic.
