Enlightened is a Faction in Starfield. The Enlightened is a religious group that believes in kindness and charity. Factions are organizations or groups that control or have influence over specific territories and Star Systems. Each Faction has its own set of values and beliefs that are implemented into how they run as a group.

- How to join the Enlightened: Players have the choice to choose Raised Enlightened as a Trait which means you grew up as a member of the Enlightened. You gain access to a special chest full of items in the House of the Enlightened in New Atlantis. With this trait, you will Lose access to the Sanctum Universum store.

- As a player, you can then align yourself with one or multiple Factions to gain additional Missions and Rewards from them and gain access to additional benefits and Locations. Factions you don't have an alliance with have a chance to be hostile against you when entering their territory and can potentially put a bounty on you. You can join Factions by accepting and completing Faction Missions which will contribute to the player's relationship with a faction and progress the storyline of the group.
