The Great Laredo Caper is a Miscellaneous Mission in Starfield. The Great Laredo Caper tasks you with helping the Ranger Surveillance Assisstants catch a thief. Completing Missions allows players to learn more about the world and characters in Starfield. Players can take on Main Missions which progress the main story forward, and other types of optional secondary missions that do not. Miscellaneous Missions are side quests that do not affect your relationship with any Faction or progress the main story. Completing Missions earns players experience, Weapons, Armor, and other types of loot.
While walking in Akila City, I overheard two girls talking and they called for my help. I should talk with them. So Annie Wilcox thinks there is a Thief stealing things from the Laredo Firearms Factory. She says the thief has regularly been stealing around midnight.
As Annie Wilcox said, there is indeed a suspicious character I found outside of the Laredo Firearms Factory. I should talk to him

The Great Laredo Caper can be unlocked by the following NPC or the following actions:
- Can be obtained by hearing Annie Wilcox call out to you up the stairs from the football court on Akila City, Akila in the Cheyenne System.
