Take note that this region is Level 65 and will need a Piloting Rank 2, but it is better and far easier to have a Piloting Rank 3. Starfield Operation Starseed Walkthrough

Once you have safely landed in Charybdis 3, a new mission will begin for you: "Operation Starseed". Upon landing, you will reach an Outpost called 'The Crucible' found within the planet. As you get closer to the facility, you will hear a distress call. Then, shortly after landing, a robotic assistant with the name Tobias will greet you and will detect you and your crew as an 'Outsider' because of your unknown origin. It will ask you what's your purpose on the planet. Respond to it by choosing "I received your distress call."

While engaged in a conversation with Tobias, you will meet another character by the name of Ada. You will learn from them that there are other members of the society, by the name of Franklin and they will want you to meet him. This will lead you to discover that this place is full of clones of prominent people from ages ago, including an emperor from the 1100s, a queen from the past, and a US president- all of whom are residing on the same planet. On this planet, Franklin is the leader of the Pragmatist Society, and as a leader, he believes that no one should be able to leave. He continues to tell you that people would often fight about their situation on the planet, which can lead to violence.

After that conversation with FDR, he will want you to meet the other leaders of the town. Proceed to explore the outpost and you will find a man named Genghis Khan, located outside the colony walls who tells you that he needs your assistance in fighting off the alien attackers. Then, you will also meet Queen Amanirenas, a member of another society within The Crucible, who expresses her desire to repair the outpost.

As you may have noticed, each of the 3 leaders has a different approach to how they want to handle the situation in the Outpost:

  • The Emperor wants to destroy The Crucible and escape
  • The US President wants to disable The Crucible but believes that everyone should stay on Crucible, as their society isn't yet ready for space travel.
  • The Queen wants to fix The Crucible and they hope for a new Golden Age under their leadership

All three of the leaders will request your assistance to investigate and report your findings to them after. Before you make your way to the outpost to resolve the issue of the leaders, a man named Wyatt Earp will request to meet you in a cave and this will grant a new mission: 'Secret Lives'. Then, when you are ready, continue to head to the outpost and you will find that the inside is infested with Maggotmaws. Your objective here is to locate 7 slates imprinted with clues throughout the outpost. Don't worry, the location is filled with markers as you find the slates throughout your mission.

After collecting all 7 of them, interact with the computer panel to progress your mission. When you are done, hand over the notes to whomever you have chosen: The Emperor, A Queen, or a US President. Afterward, your next mission is to free all the clones and will involve looking for access to a restricted section in The Crucible and will prompt you to travel to another planet at Zelazny 1.

According to Ada, a vessel called Beagle is where the clones originated from and by traveling to its location, you will be able to retrieve the codes to unlock the restricted area from this abandoned ship. This is yet, located in a distant part of the system that needs a minimum of 27 LY. Another upgrade to your ship and crew will likely be necessary before you make the trip. To be able to locate this planet, try having a crew member with a Rank 4 in Astrophysics to scan distant planets.

The next destination is the planet called Zelazny 1 and upon arriving at the Beagle, you will be able to recover the codes that will give you access to the restricted section back at the outpost. Once you have collected them, travel back to Charybdis 3 to unravel the fate of clones. This is up to you, whichever leader's plan you choose to go with.

Before choosing a leader, take note that you will be able to earn an outfit as a reward for killing the other leader. To put it into perspective, there is going to be a gunfight here as the leaders argue on what to do next, regardless of who you choose to support. Whichever leader you decide to support, Amelia Earhart will appear outside of Roosevelt's compound, and she'll ask if she can be one of your companions

How to Find Amelia Earhart in Starfield

Now, whatever the result is, you will be able to help Amelia Earhart escape the colony once you gain access to the restricted section. You can have her as your Companion but romancing her is not available. After the Mission, regardless of the outcome, she'll be to the right of where you'd usually be able to find Roosevelt, outside of the compound. She'll ask you about your ship and eventually formally ask you if she can come along on your adventures and you'll have the option to officially add her as part of your Crew and/or one of your Companions.
